On the Troy Davis survey I believe you needed another option: “No, but I don’t believe in the death penalty.”. This is the one I would have chosen. It addresses the penalty, not just the question of guilt.

East Mecklenburg has a rich history of distance runners. As one of the members of the last team to make it to State in 98’ I will say intelligent hard work and consistency over the course of years makes great teams. Larry McAfee was my coach and I am honored to say I gave him and the East Mecklenburg team 4 years of hard nosed racing and training. We didn’t have much talent; we were consistent and diligent in our preparation. This year’s team looks to have made significant improvements over some of the previous seasons and very well could be back at the state meet within a couple of years.

Thank you! Cross country is not a very well-known sport at East, but, as a student in her second season of it, I can honestly say that it’s likely one of the toughest!
