Meet senior Laura Parker, known around school for her fun hairstyles and strong abilities in math and science. Parker is a future Psychology major at UNC-Greensboro, and loves grape soda and French toast, and even likes spring despite the stinky trees.
Q: What’s your full name?
A: Laura Elizabeth Parker.
Q: What was that thing you used to roll your leg around on?
A: Oh, that was a Roll-around. I got it after I got a bunionectomy – I had a bunion in my knee and I got it removed.
Q: If you had a superpower what would it be?
A: If I had a superpower? Well I actually think about this often, and I would probably like to disappear whenever I wanted to.
Q: What’s your favorite windows accessories game?
A: I play solitaire all the time.
Q: What would you like to be good at?
A: OK, well, let me tell you about lettuce rot. As in lettuce that you eat, and rotting lettuce…but also the pun! As in let-us-rot. It’s my band.
Q: You have a band?!
A: Well not quite yet, but it will happen!
Q: All right, we’ll be on the lookout. Do you have an album release date for everyone to look forward to?
A: Yes, 2012. December 21, 2012. Get it straight
Q: What’s your favorite band?
A: The Pixies. They’re the best band ever. My cat’s name is Frank Black after the lead singer.
Q: Were you named after anyone or anything?
A: I was actually named after a street in my neighborhood, because I was going to be named Allison, but some crazy lady across the street was named Allison, and my parents didn’t want me to be crazy. So they named me Laura.
Q: Anything else?
A: Aliens! I love aliens dude, because…they’re totally real.
Q: Why do you like aliens?
A: Because, well, nobody believes in aliens, and I think that’s selfish because, I mean, the universe is infinite, how could earth be the only one with inhabitants, ridiculous, and I think that aliens really influence culture, to the world, it’s crazy
